PHOTOGRAMMETRY
In this case, I was shortlisted out of just under 200 people to go to Canon’s European headquarters to give a presentation about this concept to the people heading up their new 3D printing department In the case of the Canon brief, we were given the task of designing a photogrammetry device.
As demonstrated in the photo of the tent you can simulate depth by mapping shadows and highlights from various photos. It's the same system google earth uses to generate their 3D map effect.
My Device essentially took that functionality and combined it with the ability to take full 360 Degree panoramics to create a fully immersive environment later on. Essentially giving you the option to walk around in your photos. Given the current rise in the use of 3D scanners and VR headsets for 3D printing and visualisation Canon were interseted in it's potential.
