Fixperts was a group project I really enjoyed doing. It finally gave me, as a designer, a chance to help people.

As designers, we are often asked to design materialistic products with no soul, for those with lots of money to buy.

 

With this project however we got to find our own client with a real world problem and help make their life better.

Grace was our client, she suffers from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. A horrible disease that causes weakness in the bones and joints. It is degenerative and left her in constant pain.

​

Our product didn’t magically cure her of all pain but it did help alleviate pain for everyday tasks such as writing.

​

We created a hand brace to stop her thumb from dislocating when she wrote.
